THE HIGHWAYMEN - HIGHWAYMAN

The Highwaymen - Highwayman

You take a boatload of legends and what do you get? Quality ass country. If you're thinking putting Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash in a room was a bad idea, you got shit were your brain's supposed to be. They're all on their mark, all havin' a ball, and damn, it feels good to be in on it.

KRIS KRISTOFFERSON - KRISTOFFERSON

Kris Kristofferson - Kristofferson

I just read Ethan Hawke's extensive Rolling Stone piece on Mister Krister and it inspired me to delve deep into this dude. This is the first album and features some real classics: "Sunday Morning Coming Down," "Help Me Make It Through The Night," and of course, "Me and Bobby McGee." That's not to say there's not other awesome jams, because clearly a man of his grandiosity is packed with hits. A legend, no bones about it.

Phosphorescent - Here's To Taking It Easy

Besides probably the best album title of the year, this fuzzy Alabama dude just writes some of the best beer-swillin', car-drivin' (but don't mix and match) music for the Hangover Monday types like me. And you.
